Gluten Free Bread Recipe


If you are allergic to gluten, are gluten intolerant, or have celiac disease, you may be looking for a good gluten free bread recipe. You should be aware that gluten free breads often have a slightly different texture than breads made with wheat. However, we think you’ll be pleased with the recipes provided here. The sandwich bread recipe given below produces a bread similar to sandwich breads made with wheat flour, and the pumpkin bread recipe is a real treat.





Gluten Free All Purpose Flour Mixture

When preparing a gluten free bread recipe, you will often be advised to use a gluten free all purpose flour mixture. Using a mixture of different flours instead of a single flour improves the texture of the bread. You can purchase such mixtures from stores selling gluten free products, or you can make your own gluten free flour mixture. The recipe provided here will give you a good all purpose flour mixture that you can use in many gluten free bread recipes. Your can also experiment with your own mixtures.

Combine flours in a large bowl and mix well. Store in a tightly covered container.

Gluten Free Bread Recipe – Sandwich Bread

Combine flour mixture, dry milk powder, sugar, salt, unflavored gelatin, guar gum, xanthan gum, and yeast in a large mixing bowl. Mix well.

In another bowl, combine butter, eggs, water, honey, and vinegar and mix well.

Add wet ingredients to dry ingredients and mix well.

Spoon batter into a lightly greased loaf pan. Cover, put in a warm place, and let rise for one hour.

Bake at 375 degrees for one hour.

Gluten Free Bread Recipe – Irish Soda Bread

Combine white rice flour, tapioca flour, sugar, salt, baking powder, and baking soda in a large mixing bowl. Mix well.

In a small bowl, whisk together egg and buttermilk. Then add egg mixture to dry ingredients and mix well.

Pour batter into lightly greased nine inch round cake pan. Bake at 350 degrees for one hour.

Gluten Free Bread Recipe – Pumpkin Bread

In a large bowl, combine fava bean flour (or other bean flour), brown rice flour, xanthan gum, baking soda, nutmeg, cinnamon, and salt. Mix well.

In another bowl, whisk together pumpkin puree, honey, vegetable oil, and water. Add eggs one at a time and whisk well.

Add wet ingredients to dry ingredients and mix well. Divide batter evenly between two lightly greased loaf pans.

Bake at 325 degrees for 60 minutes.
