Pest Control Reviews

 Choosing the Right Exterminator

Finding the best home pest control can be a daunting task.  We examined a number of home pest control reviews in order to bring you the basics.  It’s a good idea, though, to compare several companies side by side to see how they really measure up.  Because the prices and services offered by local pest control companies may vary from area to area, it’s hard for us to do a thorough comparison for you here.  However, we can tell you the basics of what to look for.  You can contact local exterminators by phone for information, or you can visit their websites to learn more.

When looking at pest control reviews, it’s important to consider several factors.  Of course you want to consider who offers the best price, but that may not be the most important thing.  What else should you look for?

A Free Inspection

Many pest control companies offer a free inspection of your home to determine what pests are plaguing you and to help you determine the best course of action.  We recommend you never pay for this initial inspection; there are enough reliable companies that offer one for free.

A Money Back Guarantee

Some pest control companies offer a money back guarantee if you’re not completely satisfied, and we recommend going with a company that offers such a guarantee.  Getting your home treated for pests can be expensive.  Depending on the size of your home and the type of treatment needed, you might pay $150 - $300 for a one-time treatment, and in many cases, you’ll need to sign a contract for treatment over a period of time.  For instance, experts often recommend having your home treated every three months if you have a pest problem.  So obviously, you want to make sure you’ll get what you pay for – no more pests.

Additional Treatments if Needed at No Extra Charge

When doing your home pest control reviews, look for companies that will offer additional treatments if needed at no extra charge.  As we said above, you want to make sure you get what you pay for – no more pests.  The company will tell you how many treatments are normally needed to solve your problem, but what if they do those treatments and you still have pests?  Or if the pests come back sooner than the company says they should?  To solve this problem, look for a home pest control company that will provide additional treatments in such cases at no additional charge.

“Green” Pest Control

Some people are concerned about the impact of pest control chemicals on the environment.  There is also a concern about the impact of these chemicals on the health of people exposed to them, especially children.  If you’re concerned about this, you might want to look into “green” pest control.  Many well-known pest control companies offer green pest control options, which include environmentally friendly products.  One company that we found got good green pest control reviews is Terminix.
