Natural skincare recipes are increasing in popularity these days. So is an anti aging diet. People want to prevent and/or treat wrinkles and other age-related skin problems, but they want to avoid products that contain unnatural ingredients that may actually be harmful to the skin. They also want to avoid costly, invasive procedures like botox injections.
Anti aging foods and natural skincare recipes nourish the skin and help to prevent wrinkles and other problems. Of course, a healthful diet can prevent a number of other conditions as well.
You can reduce the chance of wrinkles and other age-related skin problems by following an anti aging diet.
An anti aging diet should include plenty of raw fruits and vegetables. Raw foods contain live enzymes that the skin needs in order to be healthy, and cooking destroys these enzymes. Many fruits and vegetables also contain antioxidants, which help repair skin damage.
Other anti aging foods that contain antioxidants include legumes, nuts and seeds, and whole grains. Dried fruits also contain antioxidants.
You also need to make sure you drink plenty of water. Dehydration damages the skin and leads to wrinkles.
Using natural skincare recipes can help your skin stay healthy and youthful-looking. You can make your own skin care products if you have the time and the inclination, or you can buy products made with all-natural ingredients. We’ll tell you about our preferred products in just a moment.
Here are a couple of natural skincare recipes to try. You probably already have some of the ingredients in your kitchen. The others you can buy at the grocery store, health food store, or online. These recipes are all gentle on the skin, so you can use them even if you have sensitive skin.
Homemade Facial Mask
Combine ¼ cup of fruit juice, ¼ cup chamomile tea, and one packet unflavored gelatin in a pan. Heat for one minute, stirring gently. Apply the mixture to your face and let it dry, then peel the mask off and rinse your face with cool water.
Anti Aging Cream
Combine one-ounce glycerin (if you can’t find it in a store, you can order some online), 3 tablespoons honey, 3 tablespoons wheat germ oil, one-ounce witch hazel, and ½ ounce of rose water in a bowl. Whisk gently until ingredients are mixed well. Apply around the lips and eyes.
Anti Aging Mask
Combine one teaspoon of honey with a few drops of orange juice. Spread evenly over the face and leave on for 20 minutes, then rinse off with warm water.
Violet Eye Cream
You’ll need ½ cup fresh violet flowers, ½ cup fresh violet leaves, ½ cup fresh horsetail (look for this at health food stores), 1 ¼ cups almond oil, 2 tablespoons beeswax, and 10 drops vitamin E oil. Put the violet leaves and flowers on a towel and allow them to wilt overnight. Then steep the violet leaves and flowers and horsetail in the almond oil in a double boiler over low heat for about five hours. Cut the beeswax into small pieces. Strain out the plant material from the oil and add the vitamin E. Melt the beeswax into the oil.
